Sunshine Furniture was recognized as the 2011 winner of Best Use of Accessories, Single Store, in Casual Living's 11th annual Merchandising Awards. Editors announced the winner in the magazine's June issue and its June 6 eWeekly report, which can be viewed here.

Sunshine Furniture's President Gail Williams will receive a plague to display in the Vero Beach, Fla, store.

The Judges - made us of art directors and editors from Casual Living, Furniture/Today and Home Accents Today - said that they liked Sunshine Furniture's use of Floridian themes and it's good placements of accessories for a home-like or second home setting. "They found a wide variety of accessories that perfectly enhance their in-store themes," one judge commented. Another said the 35,000-sq-ft store was inviting, colorful and well-designed. A fourth judge said Sunshine Furniture was accessorized " like a serious outdoor living space and each piece played a role in the setting."

Casual Living is a business-to-business publication, known as the voice of the leisure marketplace. Since 2001, its annual Merchandising Awards have honored casual furniture specialty stores for fashion-forward displays, creative use of the accessories and excellence in merchandising. Independent specialty retailers, designers and manufacturers of home furnishings for outdoor, porch and paid use are Casual Living's primary audience in North America and beyond.
